An orthopaedic unit has opened at Airedale Hospital.
The facility – based on ward 18 – is for patients having orthopaedic operations, reducing the likelihood of potential infections.
Alex Acornley, consultant surgeon and clinical lead for orthopaedic services at the hospital, said: “Having a dedicated unit for orthopaedic patients is something we have been keen to develop for a while, as this will vastly improve the safety and quality of the experience we can give our patients.
“We have built up a team of seven specialist surgeons who offer a range of procedures and now have a dedicated ward environment to provide the best care possible for our patients.”
