More than 70 children took part in a holiday programme at Buttershaw Business and Enterprise College, culminating in a day of Halloween-themed fun.
The free outreach scheme, attended by children from a cluster of seven primary schools in the area, featured sports sessions and arts and crafts activities for young people aged five to 13.
The initiative is run as part of the college’s ‘Future Learning Partnership’ with its feeder schools, in conjunction with Healthy Lifestyle Solutions CIC, a voluntary organisation that aims to reduce health inequalities across the district.
Stuart Fisher, extended schools manager at BBEC, said: “We always receive positive feedback about the sessions, and you can see how they help to build the children’s confidence which parents really appreciate.”
