A team of young Bradford divers returned from a competition with a haul of seven medals, including three golds.
The 19-strong Bradford Esprit Diving Club group – which included 18 novice divers and one master diver, all aged between six and 14 – took part in the Tynemouth Trophy Novice against other national teams at North Shields Diving Pool.
The gold medals were won by Grace Rogerson, George Parsonage and Owen Passmore. A silver was won by Elizabeth Powley, while three bronzes went to Scott Holmes, Scarlett Tomlinson and Elysia Throup. The club also won the Team Trophy for the third year running .
Coun Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council’s executive member for sport, said: “The team has worked extremely hard and these well-deserved achievements make a huge statement about their strength for the current diving season.”
