A Brighouse schoolgirl has died in a car crash on holiday in Scotland.
Caitlin Thaxter was a passenger in a silver Toyota RAV4 which went out of control while negotiating a left-hand bend a few miles east of Inveraray, near Dunderave Castle, leaving the road and crashing into a tree.
Caitlin, who attended Brighouse High School, died at the scene of the crash which happened on Saturday morning, the day after she had been celebrating her 16th birthday with friends.
The 45-year-old woman driving the car and a teenage girl in the back seat, were taken to MidArgyll Hospital in Lochgilphead for treatment.
