Two parishes in the Worth Valley are poised to get greater control of future development in their neighbourhoods.
Bradford Council’s executive will be asked on Tuesday to approve Neighbour-hood Area designations for Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury, and Oxenhope.
If the go-ahead is given, the two parish councils can then produce neighbourhood plans for their designated areas.
Councillor Val Slater, the council’s executive member for housing, planning and transport, said: “Neighbourhood plans give communities a greater say on what developments take place in the future.
“They mean the people who know best about their area and what it needs are empowered to apply this knowledge to a tailored plan.”
People will be given a say on issues such as whether they want new homes, shops or offices to be built, and what new buildings should look like.
