A group of pupils at a Bradford primary school helped scientists from across the world carry out research for a Marie Curie-funded project.
Ten students at Brackenhill Primary School joined scientists from countries, including Italy, Germany, France and New Zealand, to take water samples from Shaun’s Pond in Heaton Woods.
Before setting off, the children heard a presentation about how water can get polluted. The water samples were then tested back in Bradford University’s laboratories, under the watchful eye of Prof Simon Tait and EU researchers.
Scientists from Holland, Iran, Greece and Latvia are also involved in the project.
