Motorcycling vicars donned their leathers for a tour of the three cathedrals of the new diocese of West Yorkshire and the Dales.
The vicars, from the three dioceses of Bradford, Ripon and Leeds, and Wakefield, started Saturday’s road trip at Dunnie’s Cafe in Otley and finished at Wakefield Cathedral at 3pm. They called in at Bradford Cathedral and Ripon Cathedral en route.
The run was organised by the Reverend Paul Tudge, vicar of St John’s in Farsley, formerly of All Saints Parish Church in Ilkley. The Reverend Neal Owen and the Reverend Robb Sutherland also took part.
The Rev Tudge said: “It’s all in a spirit of fun, friendship and beginning to get to know each other better.”
The new Diocese of West Yorkshire & The Dales comes into being on Easter Day 2014 when the three existing dioceses will be dissolved.
