A pedestrian is fighting for his life after being in a collision with a car in Bradford last night.
Police said the man, aged in his 30s, was crossing Wakefield Road during a heavy downpour when a black Mercedes E280 collided with him. The car was travelling away from Bradford city centre.
The man was taken by ambulance to Leeds General Infirmary with multiple injuries, including to his head and back. A police spokesman said this morning that his injuries are life-threatening.
Police were called to the incident, which happened at traffic lights at Wakefield Road’s junction with Lorne Street, at 6.17pm. The road was closed between its junctions with Neville Road and Sticker Lane roundabouts. It re-opened at about 10pm.
