A pedestrian was injured in a collision with a car as he crossed a busy Bradford road in a torrential downpour tonight.
The man was crossing Wakefield Road, near its junction with Lorne Street, at some traffic lights when the incident happened at 6pm.
Police closed Wakefield Road between its junctions with Fenby Avenue and the roundabout at Sticker Lane following the collision. The car involved was heading away from Bradford city centre.
A police spokesman said: “The man was crossing the road in the bad weather and was in collision with a car.”
Officers were still on the scene at about 9pm.
The spokesman said the man was taken to hospital for treatment, adding that it was too early to say how serious his injuries were.
