Champion triathletes the Brownlee brothers saw a statue unveiled in their honour today.

Alistair and Jonny, whose athletic careers started when they were pupils at Bradford Grammar School, were on hand to see the artwork called “Triathlon” go on show in their home village. It has been put up in Jubilee Copse Park, Bramhope, as a permanent tribute by villagers to the brothers’ exploits. The triathlon at the London Olympics captured the attention of the world when Alistair won gold and Jonny bronze in dramatic fashion.
