The Bradford Community Environment Project (BCEP) charity is holding its final free training session of the year to anyone who wants to try their hand at maintaining an allotment.
Participants will also help BCEP maintain their community plots, which are used by schools and community groups.
The session is at Scotchman Road allotments, Scotchman Road, Heaton, tomorrow from 10am to noon.
It will take place whatever the weather and will focus on fruit and autumn tasks. There’s no need to book – just turn up on the day.
BCEP can also offer free temporary starter plots on Scotchman Road to those waiting for their own. They are available for a returnable deposit of £10, and can be viewed at the end of the training session or by contacting Jane Robinson at BCEP on (01274) 223236, 07904167877 or jane@bcep.org.uk.
Carlton Smith, of BCEP, said: “Local food production is a cornerstone of a sustainable society and offers many and varied benefits to individuals, families and wider society.”
