The daughter of acid attack victim Barry Selby yesterday issued a heartfelt plea for the public to help bring his killers to justice.

Samantha Selby told how her 50-year-old father was “innocent” and “did not deserve to die the way he did” when he was shot and sprayed with a corrosive substance at his Bradford home early on October 14.

In the attack in the bedroom of his house on Rayleigh Street in East Bowling, Mr Selby suffered 50 per cent burns to his body and died of his injuries four days later.

Speaking on behalf of his family yesterday, Miss Selby said: “My dad was a very hard-working, honest, caring family man who is innocent in all of this and did not deserve to die the way that he did.

“Somebody out there knows who did this and I’m asking for any information that may help the investigation and will bring his killers to justice.”

Detectives last night revealed a house on Farway in Holme Wood had been shot at prior to the attack. They believe the two incidents may be linked.

Yesterday police re-arrested a 28-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He had previously been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and released on bail, along with two other men.

Police also arrested a 23-year-old woman on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

Another man, Lee Calvert, 22, of Stirling Crescent, Holme Wood, will face a murder charge when he appears at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, November 1.

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
