The average life expectancy for new-born babies in Bradford has increased across a decade.
Figures released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS) show that between 2000-02 and 2010-12 the female life expectancy from birth in Bradford rose from 78.9 to 81.5, against England and Wales averages of 80.6 and 82.9 respectively.
For men, the age increased from 74.2 to 77.5 for the same dates and the averages were 75.9 and 79.1.
In 2010-12, male life expectancy at birth was highest in East Dorset (82.9) and lowest in Blackpool (74).
The ONS statistics show that life expectancy across England was characterised by a north-south divide, with people in local areas in the north generally living shorter lives than those in the south.
In 2000-02, men aged 65 in Bradford could expect to live another 15.3 years. That increased to 17.6 in 2010-12. Women aged 65 were expected to live another 18.5 years in 2000-2002 which raised to 20.2 years by 2010-2012.
