An online voting campaign to decide how £140,000 is shared among Bradford charities has received support from sporting heroes and celebrities.

The Good All Round Campaign is organised by the Sovereign Health Care Charitable Trust to mark the 140th anniversary of Sovereign Health Care.

A total of 14 charities will receive a portion of the £140,000, with the amount determined by the number of votes cast in an online vote.

Ilkley-born Alan Titchmarsh and players from Bradford Bulls and Bradford City Football Club are among those supporting the campaign through social media, encouraging people to vote at goodallround.org.

Jo Habib, Sovereign’s Charitable Trust co-ordinator, said: “Just two weeks into our campaign we’re delighted by the level of support. What’s really exciting is the number of high profile tweets and retweets we’re getting.

“Social media is exceptionally important for helping us reach out to people on a regional and national level. To get support from the Alan Titchmarsh Show, Christine Talbot and the Bradford Bulls including Matt Diskin and new chief executive Robbie Hunter-Paul gives all 14 charities the best chance of getting as many votes as possible.”

Voting closes on October 31 and the results will be announced at the National Media Museum on Wednesday, November 6.
