A councillor has called in Bradford Council to inspect work on an Ilkley building site amid concerns about noise and vibration from residents.
Ward councillor Anne Hawkesworth (Ind, Ilkley) contacted officers over pile- driving work on the 33-house building development at the former Ilkley Middle School site, off Valley Drive.
Coun Hawkesworth told officers: “The lives of the residents surrounding must be unbelievable at the moment. We can hardly think up by the moors, Emmandjay Court must be impossible.”
A Council building control surveyor said noise and dust wee not controlled under building regulations, but he said he would ask contractors on site to try to consider the impact of work on local residents.
