COFFEE: A coffee morning in aid of the Macmillan cancer support is being held on Thursday from 10am to noon in the Wyke Christian Fellowship Church.
ST MARY’S: Holy Communion is being celebrated on Sunday with the Reverend Paul Bilton. Tickets are now available from members of the church for the annual concert by the Clifton and Lightcliffe Band on Saturday, December 7. Admission £7 includes refreshments. The Monday Club is open every Monday from 11am to 3pm when members can take part in activities and enjoy a home-cooked meal.
ROYAL BRITISH LEGION: The next meeting of the Low Moor and Wyke branch is on Wednesday at 8pm in the Harold Club. The annual Poppy appeal has now started with members in the area selling their poppies.
CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP: Morning worship on Sunday at 10.30am with Holy Communion will be by Paul Hallam with Keith Bramham leading the evening service at 6.30pm. The coffee morning on Thursday at 10am is in aid of the Macmillan Cancer Support.
NEW HORIZONS: The Art Group will be meeting on Tuesday and Thursday at 2pm in the Wyke Centre. Sequence dances are on the second and fourth Wednesday of the on the month in the Methodist Church Hall from 1.30pm to 4pm. The Christmas art exhibition and craft fair is on Saturday, November 16, in the Wyke Centre from 10am to 3.30pm.
MORAVIAN CHURCH: Tonight the Adventurers Youth Group meets in the Sunday School at 7pm. Worship on Sunday at 10.30am will be by James Woolford. The craft fair is on Saturday, November 9, from 10.30am to 3.30pm.
FUN DAY: A community fun day is being arranged by the Co-op food store on Saturday from 10am. to 4pm. with activities, stalls and a parade through the village by the members of the Scout and Cub group.
RUGBY: Wyke ARLFC has games on Saturday when the first team will be at home in the Recreation Ground at 2.30pm to Sharleston Rovers and the second team away at Cowling Harlequins.
WESTFIELD UR: The Male Voice Choir holds rehearsals on Tuesdays from 2pm in the church hall. The Sunday service will be by Mick Murphy.
LIBRARY: Wyke Library, in the Appleton Academy, Woodside Road, includes a monthly book club, free computer courses plus coffee mornings on Tuesday and Thursday. The Access Bus is also available on Saturday mornings. Call (01274) 431598.
METHODIST CHURCH: The Sunday Service at 10.30am will be by Godfrey Senga. The circuit service is at 3pm at the New Hey Road Church.
OPEN DAY: South Bradford Local History Alliance will be holding an open day in the Wyke Library, Woodside Road, on Saturday, November 2, from 10am to 3pm. Bradford Family History Group will give advice on researching family history and the library computers will be available. Also on display will be the large collection of maps.
