Bingley Amateur Operatic Society is saying Hello, Dolly! this autumn.
The society is staging the popular show following the story of feisty matchmaker Dolly Levi as she travels to Yonkers, New York, to find a match for the miserly “well-known unmarried half-a-millionaire” Horace Vandergelder. In doing so she convinces his niece, his niece's intended, and Horace's two clerks to travel to New York City.
The 1969 film, directed by Gene Kelly, starred Barbra Streisand, Walter Matthau and Michael Crawford.
The lively score includes Before The Parade Passes By, The Waiters Gallop and the famous title song.
Bingley’s production stars Nicola Brook as Dolly, whose previous roles with the society have included Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd and Golde in Fiddler On The Roof.
Hello Dolly runs at Bingley Arts Centre from November 12 - 16 at 7.15pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm.
For tickets ring (01274) 567983 Monday to Friday, 11am to 3.30pm.
