Parish councillors in Haworth are investigating what can be done to improve the surroundings of the village’s Gas Street Car Park.
The topic was discussed at a meeting of the environment working group on Haworth, Cross Roads and Stanbury Parish Council.
Group chairman, Councillor Angel Kershaw, said: “There are bits of land around the car park which are very overgrown and scruffy looking.
“We want to improve those areas and the car park itself does need re-surfacing.
“If you go there on a normal day the car park is often half-empty, but there are other times when it is very heavily used, such as when there are steam galas on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway. It’s also likely to be very much in use when the Tour de France arrives.”
She added that she and her colleagues would be carrying out a site visit to assess what needs to be done.
