Detectives investigating the death of a man who was shot and had acid sprayed over him in an attack at his Bradford home were last night questioning a further man on suspicion of murder.
A 23-year-old Bradford man was yesterday arrested on suspicion of killing 50-year-old Barry Selby, who was attacked in a bedroom of his house in Rayleigh Street, East Bowling, early on Monday, October 14.
He is also being held on suspicion of firearm offences.
Another man, Lee Calvert, 22, will face a murder charge when he appears at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, November 1.
Calvert, of Stirling Crescent, Holme Wood, Bradford, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court last Friday charged with attempted murder only a matter of hours before Mr Selby died of his injuries in a burns unit.
Three other men, who have been arrested in connection with the attack, remain on bail pending further inquiries.
Following the attack Mr Selby was taken to hospital where he had surgery to remove a bullet from his leg.
He had suffered 50 per cent burns to his body, largely to his upper torso and groin area, from a corrosive substance, Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
