Royal British Legion members banded together to ensure Britain’s oldest surviving former Royal Marine had a 102nd birthday to remember.
Albert Joyner, who served on the Arctic convoys and later went on to become president of Bradford and District Royal Marines’ Association, now lives in Herncliffe care home, in Spring Gardens Lane, Keighley.
He celebrated his birthday at the home alongside members of the legion and his daughter, Pam.
Legion committee member Alan Cooper said: “It was fantastic. We had a private room provided for us and Albert had a right good time.”
