A Bradford cancer charity is encouraging parents to ask for donations instead of gifts when their child is christened.
Marie Curie Cancer Care has made the suggestion, inspired by Prince George’s christening, which was taking place today.
Community fundraiser Helen Rowlands said: “What better way is there to celebrate your special occasion than to help people in need?
“Whatever the occasion, if it’s a christening like the royals, a wedding or a milestone birthday this is a great way to support the local Marie Curie Hospice in Bradford.”
All donations will help the Bradford Marie Curie Hospice continue to provide care for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses free of charge.
