This year’s Poppy Appeal has officially begun, after the first flower was presented to the Lord Mayor of Bradford at City Hall yesterday.
Appeal organiser Barbara Allsopp presented the poppy to Councillor Khadim Hussain, continuing the traditions of the Bradford Royal British Legion.
The appeal managed to raise more than £60,000 across the district last year.
Volunteers, aged 18 or more, are still being sought to help with supermarket collections on the last Saturday in October and first two weekends in November.
