Plans for a major facelift at Cullingworth Conservative Club have been approved.

An existing conservatory will be replaced with a larger, traditionally-built orangery.

And a patio area will be extended and improved.

The refurbishment package at the Station Road building will also include the rebuilding of the snug entrance and bottle store.

Club secretary Derek Holmes said the scheme would greatly enhance the club.

“Our conservatory is quite large – it seats about 20 – but the new orangery should be capable of accommodating double that number,” said Mr Holmes, who has been involved with the club for nearly 30 years.”

He said the club is obtaining building control approval and tenders for the scheme would be sought.

Mr Holmes added that work was likely to start after the winter and would take about two months to complete.
