Schoolchildren and retired people were busy bees planting bulbs to help insects thrive.
Tenants of Joseph Wright Court, Thackley, worked with pupils at Idle Primary School to plant bee-friendly bulbs and seeds in the grounds of the Anchor housing complex in Brighton Street.
Joseph Wright manager Sharon Cook said:“We are planting bulbs and seeds now so that they will bloom in early spring when honey bees start to forage for nectar and pollen as they rear new brood. We had to do our bit because helping the honey bee will secure the diverse wildlife of this country for future generations.”
