Greg Mulholland, Member of Parliament for Leeds North West, welcomed the Pool-in-Wharfedale Women’s Institute to Parliament.
The group, which had travelled down from the area surrounding Pool-in-Wharfdale, went on a tour of the Palace of Westminster before meeting Mr Mulholland over a cup of tea.
The Women’s Institute was formed in 1915 and currently has over 210,000 members in around 6,600 WIs. The organisation is currently the largest voluntary women’s organisation in the UK.
