A Lotto jackpot prize of £10 million has yet to be claimed from a ticket bought in Bradford, it has just been revealed.
The National Lottery is targeting residents across the city today, urging everyone to check their tickets.
A giant advertisement van displaying all the crucial information about the missing ticket arrived outside Bradford City Hall, in Centenary Square, this morning before heading off around the district to ensure that no one can fail to see the six luckiest numbers in Bradford.
The ticket was bought for the special draw on Saturday, October 5, 2013 which celebrated the launch of new Lotto. A single ticket-holder scooped the guaranteed £10 million jackpot and 1,000 players won £20,000 each in the new raffle.
The owner of the winning ticket matched all six main numbers to hit the jackpot. The all-important winning Lotto numbers on that date were 5, 15, 17, 19, 20, 47 and the bonus ball was 38. The lucky ticket-holder has until Thursday, April 3, 2014 to make their claim.
Local lottery winners, Susan and Michael Crossland, who won £1.2m on Lotto in 2008, were in Centenary Square this morning to help in the search for the missing multi-millionaire.
Camelot publicity manager Patrick Lisoire said it was unusual for such a large prize to go unclaimed.
“£10 million is a huge amount of money, no matter where you live in the country,” he said.
“In my job, on a weekly or monthly basis I meet people who say, ‘it won’t be me,’ but just spend a couple of minutes to check their tickets and had the most wonderful surprise.”
Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
