Three more men have been arrested in connection with an acid and gun attack in Bradford that has left a man fighting for life.

Two of the men, aged 41 and 28, of Holme Wood, handed themselves in at Trafalgar House police station yesterday afternoon.

They have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

The third man, aged 37, and also of Holme Wood, was arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

A drugs feud is believed to be behind Monday’s targeted attack. It happened shortly after 2am in a bedroom of the 52-year-old victim’s home in Rayleigh Street, East Bowling.

The man was squirted with strong acid and shot in the leg, said police.

Detective Chief Inspector Nick Wallen, of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said last night that the victim was still in hospital fighting for his life. He suffered 50 per cent acid burns to his face and body.

Officers have been granted more time to question a 23-year-old Bradford man, who was arrested on Monday on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 36-year-old man, who was also arrested, remains on police bail pending further inquiries.

Police still want witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw a dark-coloured Mitsubishi Warrior at the time of the incident.
