A Victorian adventurer and showman from Silsden will come under the spotlight in the town later this month.
William Henry Hartley, who became known as The Great Sequah, will be the subject of a talk at an open meeting of the local history group on Monday, October 28.
Mr Hartley found fame and fortune by selling potions from aboard a chariot, accompanied by a band of singers.
His exploits have been researched by Bradford academic Dr Christine Alvin, who will address the 7.20pm meeting at Silsden Methodist Church.
