When wellwishers told Susan Carroll to “break a leg” for her performance in the Bradford Catholic Players’ latest production, they didn’t think she would take it literally.
But when Susan, who is busy rehearsing for comedy musical The Producers, slipped off the edge of a pavement, she broke a bone in her foot which has left her in a pot and unable to dance.
“I’m still attending rehearsals, but I have to dance with a zimmer frame,” said Susan.
“I’m just glad it will be healed before we go on stage at the Alhambra next month. All I could think of was our choreographer Jacqui Drake wouldn’t be best pleased!”
Catholic Players publicity manager Anne-Marie Carroll added: “Susan is a real trouper. She has limped along to rehearsals and joined in as much as possible and we are hoping it will all be okay by November.”
The Producers runs at the Alhambra from November 20-23. Tickets are on (01274) 472000.
