Controversial MEP Godfrey Bloom is launching his autobiography this week.
Mr Bloom says he has written A Guinea A Minute in a whimsical style, adding that it includes some homespun and sometimes trenchant views. It will be launched on Thursday.
He said: “It will come as no surprise that it is not politically correct. What might be a surprise is that it is full of common sense, a commodity so sadly lacking in most modern-day politicians.”
Mr Bloom, who represented the UK Independence Party until recently, has featured prominently in the news after being accused of making derogatory comments about Developing World countries and women.
He said that since these latest controversies he has added a new chapter to his book, entitled “Bongos, Boobs and Sluts”.
Mr Bloom is an MEP for Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Describing his book as a poolside read, he said it covers a post-war period which ranges from rationing to obesity.
He said that like most British people of a certain age he does not think we are happier than we were, and that his autobiography tries to explain why this is the case.
Any profits from the book’s sales will go to the Yorkshire Royal British Legion.
