The Magic Of Motown returns to Bradford next month with its I’ll Be There 2013 tour featuring a new show with back-to-back Motown hits.

In 1963, Detroit’s Motown groups were regularly topping the charts in the United States before conquering this country, too.

Show producer Michael Taylor said: “There’s dazzling dance moves and glittering costumes galore. Plus the incredible Magic of Motown band, tighter than Motown’s house band the Funk Brothers in their prime.

“This show marks 50 years of number one hits from the world’s favourite record label.”

Care has been taken to reproduce the original look of the Motown stars on stage. It was not just the music that set Berry Gordy’’s extraordinary array of talent apart.

For mass market appeal, artistes’ images were carefully controlled from dress and choreography, right down to their manners.

“Thus we’ve employed the services of top costume designer Claire Davis to create a fabulous selection of colourful costumes for the cast.

“Leading man Andre Lejaune is responsible for choreographing the cast to perform the intricate dance moves for which Motown stars were famous,” Michael Taylor added.

Andre Lejaune said that the cast has rehearsed an all-new arena show to celebrate this golden anniversary.

“With many new numbers added to our already hit-packed show, we needed to ensure the choreography was right on point.

“The show is called The Magic of Motown for a reason, it’s our job to ensure theatregoers have a truly magical night to remember.”

The Magic Of Motown is at St George’s Hall on November 9. For tickets, call book ring 01274-432000 or go to bradford-theatres.co.uk.
