Bradford theatre company Mind the Gap has swapped the high seas for the supermarket aisles in a new take on Treasure Island.
Robert Louis Stephenson’s classic tale, retold by renowned playwright Mike Kenny, is touring the UK this autumn.
Hawkins is bored as a long night stretches ahead – almost as long as the endless shelves that need stacking… But there be mutiny among the tinned beans and bags of spuds when modern-day and fantasy worlds collide and Flints Supermarket becomes the scene for action-packed maritime adventure. The tale of treasure, tills and trolleys turns the aisles into adventure, carrots into parrots, and cut-loaves into cutlasses!
Fun for all the family in this swash-buckling trolley dash of a show, running at Mind the Gap’s studios at Lister Mills today at 1pm and 6.30pm, tomorrow at 2pm and later this year on Friday, December 13 at 11am and 6.30pm.
