Acclaimed choreographer Matthew Bourne is bringing his new show, a maverick dance version of Lord Of The Flies, to Bradford next year.
Choreographed by Olivier-nominated Scott Ambler, the show is based on William Golding’s classic novel, translating the action from a deserted island to a deserted theatre.
Finding themselves abandoned, with no adults around, a group of schoolboys start to make their own rules and create their own civilisation, before order breaks down and the story builds to an electrifying climax.
With a cast of New Adventures dancers and remarkable young talent, chosen from various regions, the production brings Ralph, Piggy, Jack and the other boys to life with raw energy and emotional intensity.
The show is devised and directed by Matthew Bourne, who is behind some of the most successful dance productions ever staged.
Since its formation in 2002, his company New Adventures has created a diverse repertory of acclaimed new works, including Edward Scissorhands, Dorian Gray, Nutcracker, Highland Fling and The Car Man.
Lord Of The Flies comes to the Alhambra from December 3 to 6, 2014. For tickets ring (01274) 432000.
