Audiences can expect the unexpected with Keighley Playhouse’s latest production.
The society is staging Agatha Christie’s The Unexpected Guest for its second play of the autumn season.
As secrets are shared on a dark, foggy night, a dead body sits in front of open doors. A dressed-to-kill woman stands over the corpse holding a still smoking gun – or is it the mist? Is she guilty? Or is she protecting someone? The mystery has begun.
Director Mike Boothroyd says The Unexpected Guest is full of “surprises, suspense and spine-tingling scenes”.
"Having visited the well many times, Agatha Christie’s gem of a thriller-chiller is full of clues, subterfuge and red herrings,” he adds. “The result is a Pandora’s box of suspicions, doubts, schemes and intrigues.
“Timing and pace are so important in a murder mystery and the undisputed first lady of whodunit delivers her most mischievous and puzzling play. The stage is set for a cat-and-mouse tale. Blackmail, treachery and shocking reveals, keep the plot moving and the audience guessing, down to the very last minute.”
The Unexpected Guest runs at Keighley Playhouse from October 14 to 19. For tickets ring 07599 890 769.
