A Keighley scheme to steer young people away from involvement in crime is celebrating receiving an additional six months’ worth of funding.
The West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner announced an extension of funding for projects such as youth offending, drugs intervention and community safety.
Mark Burns-Williamson revealed there would be another six months of funding for crime and community partnerships at the same level as it is now.
Among the groups which will receive a share of this cash is the charity JAMES, which runs the Positive Futures programmes in Keighley. It has already received its funding for the 2013/14 financial year, but the extra money will enable it to maintain its current level of service next October.
