Representatives from 11 European community radio stations are in Bradford this week to talk about benefits to volunteers who get involved on their local airwaves.
It is part of an EU project under the Grundtvig Adult Learning programme and the event will be hosted by Bradford Community Broadcasting (BCB) at the Midland Hotel with participants from Italy, Spain, Austria, Ireland, Sweden, France and Luxembourg as well as the UK.
The project is working together to look at the skills that volunteers learn through their involvement in community radio. The meeting will also focus on working with young people and migrant communities.
Mary Dowson from BCB said: “It’s really exciting to host the meeting here in Bradford and show our international colleagues what Bradford has to offer.”
Participants will be taking part in a show on BCB 106.6FM at 6pm tonight.
