A father and his ten-year-old daughter have been hurt in a head-on collision near Pool-in-Wharfedale.
It happened on the A658 between Huby and Pool-in-Wharfedale at about 6am today, opposite the Biffa business park.
The 43-year-old man and his daughter, from the Richmond area, were rear passengers in a grey Citroen C5 estate taxi which was heading towards Pool-in-Wharefedale.
The collision was with a white Ford Transit tipper van heading towards Harrogate.
Both the father and child were taken to Leeds General Infirmary with chest and abdominal injuries that were not believed to be life-threatening.
The taxi driver, aged 55 and also from the Richmond area, was taken to Harrogate District Hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Transit van, aged 50 and from the Humberside area, had to be freed by firefighters. He suffered a suspected broken collar bone and was taken by ambulance to Harrogate District Hospital - the road was shut until just after 11am.
Police in particular want to speak to drivers of two or three vehicles that were travelling in front of the taxi before the crash.
