The 6,000 pupils in local schools who have not been vaccinated against Measles, Mumps and Rubella will be targeted as part of a new health drive.
The campaign will be launched across secondary schools in West Yorkshire this month. The three conditions are highly infectious and can have serious, potentially fatal, complications.
Parents of children whose health records show they have had no MMR vaccines will be contacted by letter and offered the opportunity to have the vaccine in school. Parents can still take their children to their GP for vaccination if they choose to do so.
The catch-up programme is run by Public Health England, NHS England, the Department of Health and local authorities.
So far this year, West Yorkshire has seen 15 reported cases.
