A teenage girl was the target of an attempted sexual assault while walking through a subway in Bradford.
Police said the 16-year-old was approached by a man who made sexual demands and physically assaulted her before she managed to run off.
The attack happened at 3.15pm on Tuesday, said police. The scene, on Wakefield Road at its junction with Prospect Street and Bowling Back Lane, was taped off at about 5pm on Wednesday.
Officers are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
The alleged attacker is described as an Asian male, aged between 16 and 23, with gelled or messy hair. He was wearing a black hooded top with jeans.
It is believed he may have been seen in the area before.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police, said: “If anyone has seen this incident or has information about it then please contact police on 101.
“Thankfully allegations like this are rare but where they do occur we will do all we can to bring offenders to justice.
“I am appealing directly for the public’s help to trace this man.
“We are doing our bit by stepping up patrols in the area with highly visible police officers walking in the area.”
