A Bradford car dealer is to sue the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency for damages after nine of its vehicles were seized.
The cars, owned by Trade Centre at Leeds Road, Thornbury, were taken by the DVLA for not being taxed.
But they have now been returned after Bradford East MP David Ward set up a meeting with the DVLA to clarify that the vehicles were owned by the business.
Trade Centre owner Akbar Akhtar said: “We will be pursuing further damages with the DVLA for the loss of sale and revenue due to the vehicles being taken, but at least we have them back.”
Mr Ward said: “I am glad that this issue has been resolved and the business does not have to pay a fine for something that it did not do. We have been able to highlight how the DVLA needs to better review and communicate its policies and procedures which it has assured us it is now working on and will be distributing to the motor trade community in Bradford.”
