Police investigating an attempted night-time mugging of a lone woman in Ilkley are reappealing for any witnesses to the incident.
They have corrected their original appeal which said the incident happened at 10.55pm on Thursday, May 9. It actually happened on Wednesday, May 8.
On that day a 19-year-old woman was walking up Wells Walk listening to music on headphones, when she was approached from behind by a man who tried to grab her bag from over her shoulder.
The woman struggled with the man and managed to keep hold of her bag until a passing dog walker shouted at the man to leave her alone.
Her attacker ran off empty handed down Wells Walk towards the town centre.
The victim was left shocked but uninjured.
Officers would like to speak to the dog walker who disturbed the attacker and would appeal to anyone else who may have any information about this offence to contact DC Kate Edwards at Airedale and North Bradford CID on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555111.
- A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and released on bail pending further inquiries.
