Litter-busting children at Barkerend Primary School are due to be recognised as community champions by the Lord Mayor of Bradford today.
The year six pupils will be awarded certificates of appreciation by Councillor Khadim Hussain as reward for tidying up the area, designing anti-litter posters and encouraging family and friends to put pride back into their neighbourhood.
The Lord Mayor said: “It is wonderful to hear how these children have become Community Champions by looking after their local areas and inspiring people to take pride in where they live – they are great young role models.”
The clean-up campaign was a joint project with Barkerend Primary School, Places for People, and Bradford East Co-ordinator’s Office.
