An Olympics-inspired community project was so successful it is going into a second year.
Passing the Baton saw a series of events held across the city designed at boosting people’s health and wellbeing, building peaceful and caring neighbourhoods and inspiring young people to achieve their potential.
The project, aimed particularly at African and Caribbean communities, was awarded a London 2012 Inspire mark.
Passing the Baton 2013 is set to be unveiled at an event at Bowling Old Lane Cricket Club, Birch Lane, West Bowling, on Monday, June 24.
It is expected to set out plans for Commonwealth People’s Day, a diabetes prevention drive and an International Trade, Development and Investment Symposium.
