Five radio broadcasts made by a Bradford charity have won the Sandford St Martin award for religious broadcasting at a ceremony at Lambeth Palace.
The Passion Pulse, a series of one-minute Good Friday programmes made by HCJB Global won a merit award which was presented by the Bishop of Bradford, the Right Reverend Nick Baines, chairman of the Sandford St Martin Trust.
He said: “As the competition this year was particularly high, it was an accolade just to be shortlisted, so to actually win an award, HCJB Global have done extremely well and I’m really glad they’ve been recognised in this way”
Programme producer, Nick Mangeolles, who attends St Clement’s Church in Bradford, said: “I’m so pleased to have won this award. It just goes to show that it’s possible to broadcast the gospel message on commercial radio at the higest level.”
Each of the broadcasts contained a gritty, real-life personal story highlighting a different element of the passion – events leading up to Jesus’s death.
