River dipping and bug hunts were among activities on offer during a community environment day in Keighley.
More than 60 youngsters took part in Saturday’s event, alongside the River Worth at Damems.
It was opened by new Deputy Lord Mayor of Bradford, Coun Joanne Dodds, supported by town mayor Coun Sally Walker.
The event was commissioned by a steering group formed to explore how land on either side of the river can be better connected.
The area above the river has been developed by Keighley Town Council into a small country park, while land between Halifax Road and the river is managed by Bradford Council as a semi-wild plot with extensive woodland.
During the environment day several people volunteered to be part of a Friends of Damens group, to promote the area.
