A new group dedicated to taking care of Scholemoor Cemetery is inviting local residents to its first meeting on Wednesday.
The Friends of Scholemoor Cemetery group was formed after a number of people contacted Bradford Council to ask how the Necropolis Road graveyard could be made safer and more welcoming.
A Friends spokesman said the group wanted to work with the Council and the Council for Mosques to create a pleasant place for people to visit.
Councillor Joanne Dodds said that all the Great Horton ward councillors who had been involved in supporting the Friends group were hoping to attend the meeting, which is at Lidget Green Primary School, Birks Fold, from 6pm.
Coun Dodds said: “We want to work with the Friends to ensure Scholemoor Cemetery is a pleasant place for people to visit and pay their respects.
“We would be delighted for people to come along and see what sort of work is being undertaken and to put forward their views.”
