Human resources staff at Bradford District Care Trust have been shortlisted for a Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) award. The team was nominated in the improvement category in recognition of their work to develop a single point of contact for the trust’s 3,000 members of staff. The 24-hour service, which has dealt with 8,000 queries in the last two years, allows employees to contact the HR Service Desk by email or phone with any work-related query. Sandra Knight, director of human resources and organisation development, said: “It’s testament to the hard work of staff in developing a smarter way of working. The service desk frees up time for managers and clinicians to continue their work with service users.”
