A Bradford mosque opened its doors to people of all races and religions for a special service to condemn the barbaric killing of Drummer Lee Rigby at the weekend.
The Jamia Masjid Hanfia Mosque, on Ambler Street, whose members are pictured, held its ‘United We Stand’ event in memory of the soldier, who was attacked as he returned to his barracks in Woolwich on Wednesday, May 22.
Members of the mosque and other speakers condemned the murder and talked about Muslim teachings between 11am and 2pm on Saturday.
The Manningham Neighbourhood Policing Team was also at the event.
Meanwhile members of the English Defence League (EDL) paid tributes in Bradford on Saturday to Drummer Rigby. They laid flowers on the steps of the Bradford Cenotaph.
On Thursday, Michael Adebowale, 22, from Greenwich, appeared in court charged with the soldier's murder. He is due to appear again at the Old Bailey today.
A second man Michael Adebolajo, has also been charged with the murder of Drummer Rigby.
The 28-year-old, of Romford, Essex, was also charged with the attempted murder of two police officers and possession of a firearm. He was remanded in custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court today.
