Most of the British public are unaware of the life-saving difference they can make to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) survival, according to a new survey.
The survey, announced today, was conducted by national rhythm charity, Arrhythmia Alliance, and showed that over half of people questioned underestimated the difference a bystander could make to victims of SCA, the UK’s biggest killer.
In Yorkshire and Humber, 53 per cent underestimated their life-saving ability.
The survey also revealed that more than 85 per cent of Britons are not able to describe the difference between sudden cardiac arrest and heart attack.
Former England under-21 footballer, Fabrice Muamba, has leant his support to the campaign, urging members of the public to take the newly launched Hearts & Goals Challenge at to test knowledge of SCA.
