Students from Carlton Bolling College in Bradford were awarded certificates of appreciation as part of the Revamping History project.
The project involved students learning about the history of Undercliffe Cemetery, identifying areas for improvement and tidying up the cemetery over a ten-week period. Students have landscaped areas of the site and created bird boxes, an outdoor amphitheatre and flower beds around the grounds.
Carlton Bolling has adopted an area in the cemetery and will carry out further activities involving students over the next few months to improve the site.
Gareth Logan, Carlton Bolling College governor said: “This project is a fantastic way of practically involving students to make positive contributions and build the confidence of students as well as to learn about what they can do to help improve the area.”
